Happy Hump Day Everyone! Today is a fun post. I am just going to tell you a little more about Cameron and myself. Here is just a short little post about why we started dating and our dating to marriage journey.
Cameron and I met the summer after he graduated high school and I was about to be a senior in high school. We met at a church camp. His dad was my ‘dad’ for the week. His dad was asking Cameron questions about me. That is when Cameron started to notice me. He had finally decided to stop trying to find a girlfriend and just wait for God to show him the right girl to date. I had been single for what seemed like a long time (it was really a short time but in high school it seemed like forever). I knew Cameron liked me, he is not very subtle. I didn’t think he would be a great guy to date long term but I liked the attention. I thought it would at least be a fun summer fling. Not joking here, that was my reasoning for dating Cameron. Well 3 months went by and we were still together. Shocker for everyone! Cameron had never had a relationship last longer than 3 months. Then it just kept going. I moved to Massachusetts to go to Hallmark Institute of Photography for ten months. We made it through the ten months of being apart. We knew that something was different this time.
We became engaged about a year after I returned. He completely blind sided me. After the fact I could see the hints but I was oblivious at the time. We went on a mountain bike ride. He had my roommate from photography school and very dear friend, Carli, hiding in the bushes to take pictures. When we stopped at the spot she called him. This was the decoy to get him into his back pack to get the ring. Me in typical fashion was like ‘Seriously!? You are answering your phone, they can wait.’ Just prior to this he was joking around saying what would you do if I proposed on a bike ride. I am pretty sure I said something like ‘Well that would just be terrible! I am all sweaty and look disgusting!’ Well despite my horribleness he proposed anyway and it was great! He even had a plan to take us to Red Pin bowling for a party that evening but I made plans for us without telling him before. oops… We got married just one day shy of a year from when he proposed. Our wedding date was August 10,2013. So our two year anniversary is coming up. Woot Woot! Our wedding was a perfect day. I know everyone says that but it was outside in August…in Oklahoma. The heavens opened up and it was a high of 80 with a light breeze. We then went on our honeymoon which was a Disney cruise. We are huge Disney fans. I can’t wait to get to go on another cruise soon.
After we got married we did the typical move around apartments thing, then we purchased our home last October. We adopted Izzy our first fur baby just a few months after we got married. We adopted our Xena girl just a few months ago. Our fur babies are a huge part of our life and you will get to meet more of them as we go along.
That is Cameron and I in a nutshell of how we met. I will be sharing how we started our business, our dreams, struggles we have had in later posts.
